Blog >> A Fresh Look for JacobEiden.com: Behind the Website Redesign
I’ve launched a major redesign of my portfolio site. If you’ve visited before, the difference is immediate. If not, you’re seeing the best version yet.
This update isn’t just visual—it reflects how my work and perspective have evolved.
The most noticeable change is the move from a light, blue-toned design to a darker, more modern interface.
The previous gradient-heavy look felt safe but generic. The new dark background with high-contrast text creates a more confident, contemporary feel—closer to a creative portfolio than a corporate template.
The homepage messaging now reflects what I actually do.
Before: “Welcome to JacobEiden.com”
Now: “Marketing & Operations Built for What’s Next”
The update removes ambiguity and replaces it with a direct value statement. Supporting copy was also refined to better capture my range across digital strategy, content, and operations.
The education section was redesigned with a focus on clarity and relevance.
Personal elements were reduced in favor of academic context and credentials, while visual updates—like a darker background and simplified layout—create a more polished presentation.
The projects section is now more focused and intentional.
Instead of listing everything at once, key organizations are highlighted, each linking to a dedicated page. This structure allows for deeper storytelling and makes it easier for visitors to explore specific areas of experience.
Each major role now has its own detailed page, shifting from task-based descriptions to outcome-driven storytelling.
Projects are broken into clear initiatives, with context, impact, and skills highlighted. The goal is simple: show not just what I did, but how it made a difference.
Not everything changed. Key elements were intentionally preserved:
Minimal, intuitive navigation
Existing personal branding
Mobile-friendly, accessible design
Portfolio sites should evolve alongside the work they represent.
This update reflects a shift from early-career positioning to a more experienced, systems-focused approach—combining marketing, operations, and digital strategy. It’s designed to better communicate both capability and impact.
