BUnow is Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg's Multimedia News Portal dedicated to providing campus, local, national, and international news.

Jake was was the general/web manager and social media coordinator. He operated daily business affairs, oversaw the web presence by monitoring content, creating new accounts, curating content, & other administrative tasks, and coordinated social media affairs, strategies, and marketing initiatives.

The Voice Newspaper

The Voice is Bloomsburg's award-winning Student-run Newspaper, dedicated to providing top news stories to the Bloomsburg Campus.

Jake served as the Voice's Digital Editor and Social Media Coordinator, tasked to overhaul their website, rework their digital news content, while he continued to provide new ways to explore new media technology. He also assisted in curating content for social media platforms.

MEDJ Ambassador

The Media and Journalism Department at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg has an organization of media students who work together to recruit prospective students and promote the department along with the various course studies and student organizations.

Jake served as an Ambassador and attended on weekends at student open houses, junior open houses, admitted students day, and early decision days.

Phi Kappa Phi

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective multidisciplinary collegiate honor society initiates approximately 25,000 members a year on more than 325 campuses in the United States.

According to Commonwealth University, inductees must be juniors who rank in the top 7.5% of the class and seniors who rank top 10%.

BU Players Theatre Troupe

The Bloomsburg University Players promote experience in all aspects of theatre and are a proud resident producer of Arts in Bloom of Bloomsburg University.

Membership and participation in productions are open to all students, regardless of major. Membership in Players is an excellent way to meet people and enjoy various theatre-related activities on campus. BU Players is also the producing arm of the Theatre program.

Husky Singers & Concert Choir

Under the direction of Dr. Alan Baker, the Husky Singers are Bloomsburg University’s male vocal ensemble. With a repertoire ranging from art music to doo-wop, barbershop, and pop-arrangements, the group’s performances also incorporate comic sketches and humor in the great American Glee Club tradition.  Big personalities are not only welcome, but showcased!

Under the direction of Dr. Alan Baker, the Bloomsburg University Concert Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble of 40-50 voices. Auditioned annually from across the University's 63 undergraduate and 18 graduate degree programs, the Concert Choir performs a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from classical art music of all periods to folksongs, spirituals and gospel selections.

Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega (ΑΨΩ) is a National Theatre Honor Society for participants in collegiate theatre. It began in the early 20th century as result of the growing interest in dramatic arts among colleges and universities throughout America, with the aim of encouraging dramatic production at every step in a person’s academic career.

Prospective Club

The Prospective Club was a club designed to promote, adapt, and explore musical theatre from an actor or musical lover's perspective.

Jacob was the perspective-president of the club, who organized executive board meetings, department conversations, and organized administrative affairs for the club.
